Malcolm Brisker has been appointed by the Court of Appeals of Maryland to serve as Chair of the Accommodations Review Committee (ACR) of the State Board of Law Examiners for a five-year term. The ACR reviews Americans with Disability Act (ADA) accommodations requests made by applicants to the Maryland Uniform Bar Examination. An applicant with a disability as defined by the ADA may request test accommodations to ensure that he or she receives a fair and equal opportunity to fully demonstrate his or her competence on the bar exam.
A partner at Goodell DeVries, Malcolm concentrates his legal practice in all areas of civil defense litigation including product liability, construction, and insurance defense. He has extensive experience in the defense of companies in toxic tort litigation involving, among other things, alleged asbestos, mold, and lead paint exposure. He has tried product liability and personal injury cases, both jury and non-jury, throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia. A leader in toxic tort litigation, Malcolm serves on the working group judicial committee for asbestos litigation for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. He also serves on the steering committee for Asbestos Litigation in the District of Columbia.
