We are honored to receive the 2015 Pacesetter Award from The Equal Justice Council of the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau. The award was presented on June 2nd at its 18th Annual Recognition Breakfast and was received by Partner Thomas J. S. Waxter, III. The firm’s Managing Partner, Linda S. Woolf is shown below holding the award. Mr. Waxter said of the EJC, “What Maryland’s Legal Aid Bureau does on a day-to-day basis certainly makes a huge difference in the Maryland community’s access to justice. The EJC and the money they raise allow Maryland’s Legal Aid Bureau to make that difference.”
In 2013 the firm was a Cornerstone Partner and a Pacesetter Award recipient. The Equal Justice Council (EJC), formed in 1997 by Maryland private bar attorneys, is the fundraising arm of Maryland Legal Aid. Its goal is to promote equal access to justice by increasing and diversifying Legal Aid’s resources and serving as advocates and ambassadors in educating the public about Legal Aid’s programs. The Legal Aid Bureau is a private, nonprofit, multi-funded law firm providing free legal services to low-income people statewide. Legal Aid serves Baltimore City and Maryland's 23 counties from 13 office locations.
