Goodell DeVries is pleased to welcome Daniyal Hannan as an associate in the firm’s Appellate and Critical Motions practice.
Daniyal represents the firm’s clients at all stages of the appellate process, from trial-court motions practice through briefing and oral argument on appeal. A former prosecutor, he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Frederick County, Maryland, where he prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases. Daniyal also brings extensive appellate experience. He served two years as a law clerk in the Maryland appellate courts at the Supreme Court of Maryland (J. Eaves) and the Appellate Court of Maryland (J. Ripken).
Daniyal is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and he is a member of the Frederick County Bar Association.
He earned his J.D. (cum laude, 2021) from the American University, Washington College of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Business Law Review. He holds an M.S. in Law (with honors, 2018) from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. He has a B.S. (cum laude, 2017) in Mechanical Engineering from the Boston University College of Engineering.
