M. Peggy Chu is a partner with Goodell DeVries and a member of the Appellate and Medical Malpractice practice groups. She concentrates her practice in representing individual and institutional healthcare providers against claims of medical negligence and related claims before state licensing boards and in state and federal courts. Peggy handles all phases of complex litigation, including investigation, strategy development, depositions, motions, alternative dispute resolution, trial, and appellate practice. She has prevailed on numerous dispositive motions and has repeatedly tried cases to defense verdicts. Her practice regularly entails challenging nuclear verdict cases in post-trial and appellate phases. 

Peggy regularly advises her healthcare clients on matters relating to peer review, credentialing, best practices, and policies. She presents to healthcare providers, health system risk managers, and claims representatives on a variety of pertinent topics including healthcare advance directives, preservation of electronic evidence, the confidentiality of medical records, and transgender identification issues.

Peggy is the Treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Her past pro bono work includes representing an assisted living facility, advising law students, and participating in the Open Doors to Federal Courts program.
