Jim O'Brien is an associate with Goodell DeVries and a member of the firm's Medical Malpractice Practice Group. He represents healthcare organizations, individual healthcare providers, and their insurers in medical malpractice claims.

Jim also has experience in drafting and negotiating business contracts, and he has worked with organizations of all sizes in these matters.

Prior to joining Goodell DeVries, Jim served as an in-house lawyer for a global aerospace manufacturer, a litigation associate at a mid-sized law firm, and a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Sally D. Adkins of the Supreme Court of Maryland, the Honorable Melanie M. Shaw of the Appellate Court of Maryland, and the Honorable Yolanda L. Curtin of the Circuit Court for Harford County.

Jim was the Executive Symposium & Manuscript Editor of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law's Journal of Business & Technology Law. Upon graduation, he received the William P. Cunningham Award for exceptional achievements and service to the School.
