James Robinson is a partner with Goodell DeVries and a member of the firm's Medical Malpractice and Appellate practice groups. James defends healthcare providers and healthcare institutions, including nursing homes and hospitals, as well as private insurance companies, in medical malpractice claims.
An accomplished litigator, James has tried numerous cases to verdict, secured summary judgments, and defended decisions on appeal. He is well-versed in Daubert challenges and has successfully persuaded courts to exclude expert witness testimony at trial. His litigation victories include defense against claims involving birth injury, complications following surgery, and allegedly negligent medical management decisions.
James has served as primary and support trial counsel in the Maryland district and circuit courts. He has drafted appellate memoranda and briefs and has presented oral arguments before the Appellate Court of Maryland.
Before entering private practice, James served as a judicial intern and as a law clerk to the Honorable Shirley M. Watts of the Supreme Court of Maryland. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Mulford, II of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.
