George Mahaffey is Counsel to Goodell DeVries, where he advises and defends a wide variety of clients in professional liability matters. He handles ethics-related matters on behalf of accountants, attorneys, engineers, design professionals, and financial services and insurance professionals.
He also represents medical cannabis and hemp companies, developing legal strategies to resolve regulatory, transactional, insurance, and litigation matters for both startups and established operations.
An experienced litigator and trial attorney, George has also handled general insurance defense as well as complex construction defect, securities, products liability, and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has tried jury cases in state and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
George has also been selected for Maryland Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Writers Guild of America and writes and presents extensively on professional liability, hemp and cannabis business, and corporate liability matters.
