Goodell DeVries seeks an experienced products liability litigator to join its burgeoning Products Liability Practice Group. You will join a group of highly respected litigators who have achieved landmark decisions in their field and litigated successfully across the country on behalf of large drug and device manufacturers. The ideal candidate is an accomplished and dedicated professional with an appreciation for humor, teamwork, and superb client service.
Goodell DeVries is a mid-size litigation law firm recognized as a top employer in the Baltimore area. Our attorneys are routinely recognized in leading industry publications for their extraordinary work in some of the nation’s most important commercial and product liability matters. The firm provides a competitive salary and benefits.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the field of products liability litigation. All candidates must be licensed and in good standing to practice in Maryland state courts; additional licensure in the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, or surrounding states is preferred but not required. The individual must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Please include a writing sample with your CV. You may email this directly to careers@gdldlaw.com.
Many law-firm Litigation Associates do all the right things but miss out on the career experiences that they envision and deserve: appearing in court for trials and hearings, writing important motions, taking and defending depositions, interacting regularly with clients and experts. They also want clients whose core mission goes beyond being profitable but makes a real difference in people’s lives. But they don’t want to pursue those personal goals at the cost of not working with a diverse array of top-tier attorneys to teach and mentor them. And is it too much to ask that the partners, associates, and staff be really nice, decent, reasonable people who truly appreciate you? And is there healthcare and free parking by the Inner Harbor? Does such a job even exist? It does.
Goodell DeVries in Baltimore has been defending the region’s hospitals and healthcare heroes for decades in many of their most important civil litigation matters. It is the only firm with a Tier 1 rating in Chambers USA for Maryland Medical Malpractice Defense. The work is challenging and important. It requires a passion for healthcare in all its parts: the medicine, the care providers, and the patients. It also requires a passion for the core components of private civil litigation: trial work, legal research and substantive brief-writing, discovery, depositions, and expert witnesses. If this is exactly what you wanted your litigation career to be, and you find yourself getting something less than that, don’t settle any longer. Join us.
Maryland Bar membership required; D.C. and/or Virginia Bar membership preferred. If not already licensed to practice in D.C., candidate must be willing to become barred. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must apply directly; no third-party/recruiter submissions will be accepted. EOE.
