Goodell DeVries is pleased to welcome new associate Sarah F. Lacey to the firm’s Medical Malpractice Practice Group.
Sarah defends healthcare providers, healthcare institutions, and insurance companies in all phases of medical malpractice claims. She brings significant experience litigating diverse high-value, complex matters in federal and state courts. Before joining the firm, she litigated a wide range of matters and conducted investigations involving the False Claims Act, home healthcare fraud, fraudulent accounting and business practices, business licensing issues, improper billing and non-compliance with terms of federal contracts, and security clearance matters.
A passionate community advocate, Sarah served as a Council Member and Chair of the Anne Arundel County Council. Prior to her election, she served as the president of her homeowners association. She has also held several volunteer roles in service of low-income and disabled seniors, a faith-based organization, and women serving short-term sentences in county jail.
Sarah is a graduate of the Catholic University Columbus School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, 2008), where she earned a certificate in Law and Public Policy and was Production Editor and Associate Editor of the Catholic University Law Review. She also holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.B., 2002).
