Jhanelle Graham Caldwell obtained summary judgment on behalf of a Washington, D.C. hospital on May 8, 2025. In the medical negligence action, Plaintiffs alleged that the Defendant hospital improperly discharged a patient who had been admitted and treated for an exacerbation of congestive heart failure. The defense moved for summary judgment on the basis that Plaintiffs’ expert witness failed to adequately identify any breaches in the standard of care by the hospital’s employees. After hearing arguments from the parties, the Court found that the Plaintiffs failed to satisfy their burden of proof and granted judgment in favor of the hospital.
