Ms. Heinrich is a partner with the firm. Her practice is concentrated primarily on professional malpractice defense. She focuses the bulk of her practice in the defense of health care providers and health care institutions.
Ms. Heinrich represents health care providers, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, in a wide array of professional malpractice claims before the Health Claims Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Office of Maryland, the Circuit Courts of Maryland, the Superior Court of Washington, D.C., and the United States District Courts for Maryland and the District of Columbia. She represents community hospitals and academic medical centers in similar claims, as well as in claims involving allegations of negligent credentialing. She has provided representation to hospitals in privileging disputes with individual health care providers. Her representation of institutional clients over the years has included: Greater Baltimore Medical Center, St. Agnes Hospital, the George Washington University Hospital and many others.
As part of her practice, Ms. Heinrich provides representation to mental health professionals in malpractice cases, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers. Claims involving mental health care providers have included diverse allegations of negligence, including failure to predict suicide, failure to predict harm to others, sexual misconduct, and negligent prescription.
Ms. Heinrich has extensive experience in the representation of long term care facilities. Ms. Heinrich is often asked to begin representation at the outset of a potential claim, and handles such matters through conclusion.
Ms. Heinrich also represents health care providers before their professional Licensing Boards.
Ms. Heinrich represents clients who have been sued concerning allegations of sexual misconduct, and has represented both individuals directly accused of sexual misconduct, and supervisors who have been sued for negligent failure to prevent or predict sexual misconduct. Her clients in this field include the Roman Catholic clergy.
